Entry points to discussions are one in top-menu, and another one is the “Participate in discussions” section on the home page. There are 5 forums at VATL. All discussions go within of these 5 forums. Let's choose one, for example, “Active learning…” and see how the interface looks like.
We see a description of the forum and a list of topics that were created within the forum.
Non authorized (An unauthorized) user can read the forum description and watch the participant. However, participation in the discussion for an unauthorized user is not available. Let us log in and see the interface for authorized users.
Additionally we see a button “Add new discussion topic”. At the list of the discussion topic are 2 items. Let us add new discussion topic, write Subject and Message of discussion. We can add tag. And click the button “Post to forum”.
Your post was successfully added. You have 30 minutes to edit it if you want to make any changes. And now we see that the new topic of discussion is at the top of the list.
We can discuss any other topic – click Reply, fill in the appropriate fields our ideas and so on. Post to forum or Cancel. In this forum we click Cancel and proceed to another discussion.
Click the menu item Discussion in top menu, select another discussion, for example, “Hibrid/Blended teaching”, here are the description of discussion and the list of topics. Go to the one of topics, click Reply at one of the discussions, write a comment, click “Post to forum” and we see our new note.A - member of VATL
