Most instructors figure out pretty quickly that creating a forum and having students attach their work to a post is a simple way to allow them to share what they've developed with each other. This is a great way to go if you would like your learners to critique and comment on each others' work.
But...
What if you're teaching a course where you'd like learners to be able to easily download and save the materials created by their classmates? For instance, on our campus, the faculty in our School of Education often want their students to be able to share their lesson plans with each other to help them build their portfolios for future use. Creating a folder and adjusting the permissions so that students can upload files to the folder is a great solution, especially now that students can download all of the files in a folder with one click.
